Laboratorio de muñecas Ep. 5: TOP-CYDOLL vs WM - ¿Quién construye el mejor esqueleto?

Doll Lab Episodio 5- TOP-CYDOLL vs WM - ¿Quién construye el mejor esqueleto?

Hey everyone, welcome back to Doll Lab! Today we’re diving deep into the skeleton systems of two popular EVO dolls — TOP-CYDOLL and WM. We’ll compare their structure, movement, durability, and even how closely they mimic the human body. Ready to get nerdy with bones? Let’s go!

Calidad del material

Both TOP-CYDOLL and WM skeletons are made from 304 stainless steel — rust-resistant, durable, and strong. Just like human bones, they need to be tough enough to handle movement but flexible enough for lifelike poses.

Human Skeleton Comparison

Let’s look at how a real human body moves: shoulders, elbows, knees, spine — all designed for fluid motion and flexibility. Good dolls should replicate these joints while staying sturdy.

Joint Types: Gear vs U-Clamp

TOP-CYDOLL uses gear joints at key pivot points like elbows and knees. These provide smoother, more controlled motion with less force needed.

WM still uses U-clamp joints, which are stiffer and require more effort to move.

Movement Limiters & Safety

TOP-CYDOLL integrates movement limiters at shoulders, elbows, knees, and ankles — just like ligaments in our body. These stop overextension and protect the doll long-term.

WM lacks shoulder limiters — which means the arms can occasionally swing too far or feel unstable.

Flexibility & Hand Articulation

Both have dual shoulder joints, rotatable necks, and wide pose potential.

  • TOP-CYDOLL: Jointed metal fingers — great for posing.
  • WM: Spring-loaded ball-jointed hands — more natural feel.

Torso, Waist & Feet Comparison

Both brands offer:

  • Rotating waist
  • Flexible spine
  • Reinforced welds for added support

TOP-CYDOLL feels more solid and durable in long-term handling.

Foot Design:

  • Both offer standing feet
  • WM has welded toe bones (especially the big toe) by default for foot realism

If you’re into detailed posing, photography, and safe movement — TOP-CYDOLL wins hands-down. If you prefer old-school durability and don’t mind stiffer joints, WM still holds its ground.

  1. Glenn Stanley says:

I really enjoyed the comparison of both dolls

  2. P says:

I purchased a TopCY, very fluid movement overall, but, having multiple Zelex, I which TopCY would have ball joint wrists. That would be a dream doll .
